The Matsu Miners (4-3) shut the door early on the Chugiak Chinooks (3-5), capturing a 15-6 victory on Monday at Hermon Brothers Field.

Eleven runs in the first three innings allowed the Matsu Miners to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Jonny Locher, , an RBI single by Mitchell Nau, a two-run double by Jordan Rodgers, and an error during the first inning and , , , , and in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Matsu Miners.

Hunter Simmons did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Matsu Miners, reaching base five times. He scored three runs and had one RBI.

Adam Oller improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Matsu Miners. He allowed four runs over five innings. Oller struck out two, walked three and gave up eight hits.

Shane Armstrong (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked six and struck out one.
