A four-run explosion in the eighth inning spurred the Bourne Braves (24-14) to a 7-1 win over the Cotuit Kettleers at Lowell Park on Tuesday.

Mark Laird racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Bourne Braves. He tripled in the third inning, singled in the seventh inning, and homered in the eighth inning.

Andrew Sopko's three strikeouts were enough to push the Bourne Braves past the Cotuit Kettleers (16-22). The Bourne Braves' pitcher gave up just five hits over five shutout innings.

The Cotuit Kettleers were led by a flawless day at the dish by Logan Taylor, who went 3-3 against the Bourne Braves' pitching. He singled in the second, fifth, and ninth innings.

Vincent Fiori was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
