Hale helps the Falmouth Commodores down the Orleans Firebirds 6-5

The Falmouth Commodores (22-15) beat the Orleans Firebirds (22-14) 6-5 in seven innings on Sunday at Eldredge Park behind Conner Hale, who drove in three runs.

He homered in the fifth inning.

The Orleans Firebirds had no answer for Kevin Mooney, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Mooney held the Orleans Firebirds hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Christin Stewart had two extra-base hits for the Orleans Firebirds. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Kyle Zimmerman got the win, running his season record to 2-1. Zimmerman struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.

Jacob Cronenworth couldn't get it done on the mound for the Orleans Firebirds, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
