A five-run explosion in the sixth inning carried the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (26-22) to a 9-2 win over the Nashua Silver Knights at Vineyard Baseball Park on Sunday.

The Marthas Vineyard Sharks scored in the sixth on a single by Jack Roberts, a single by Brendan Cox, , a double by Brian Campbell, and a solo home run by Luke Bonfield.

Bonfield racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks.

Matt Quintana struck out nine, paving the way for a the Marthas Vineyard Sharks win. Quintana allowed no earned runs, five hits and one walk over six innings.

Mike Geannelis was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out three.
