A superb effort by Mike Gibbons led the Torrington Titans (26-22) to a 5-1 win over the Brockton Rox on Sunday at Campanelli Stadium.

Gibbons racked up 11 strikeouts in the the Torrington Titans win. Gibbons allowed one earned run on two hits and no walks over seven innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Torrington Titans' RJ Going. Going went 3-5 and scored one run. He singled in the first and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Brendan King was effective even in defeat, mowing down 10 the Torrington Titans batters and allowing three runs.

King couldn't get it done on the bump for the Brockton Rox (27-24), taking a loss.
