Alex Merritt hit two home runs to carry the Seacoast Mavericks (16-14) to a 10-9 win over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (10-21) at Leary Field.

Offense was not hard to come by on on Tuesday, as both teams combined for 19 runs and 24 hits, including zero extra base hits. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were 11 pitchers used in the game.

Austin Botts racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

James Vernon got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over one inning. Vernon struck out one, walked none and gave up three hits.

Billy Gonclaves couldn't get it done on the mound for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs, taking a loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.

The Seacoast Mavericks' Chris Hess, Ryan Gendron, Tyler Fortanascio and Merritt combined for nine hits and seven RBIs.
