A superb effort by Mike Odenwaelder hoisted the Torrington Titans (13-13) to a 10-8 win over the Seacoast Mavericks (14-13) on Friday at Leary Field.
Odenwaelder racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Torrington Titans. He singled in the second inning and homered in the first and ninth innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 18 total runs and 21 hits during the game. There were seven pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.
Glenn Marrus had an impressive outing against the Seacoast Mavericks' lineup. Marrus gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his five innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Seacoast Mavericks' Jordan Quinn dominated the Torrington Titans' batters, giving up three runs and striking out eight.
Jarrod Widdows was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
