Three first-inning runs helped the Pittsfield Suns (8-7) to a 7-3 win over the North Shore Navigators (6-11) at Fraser Field on Saturday.
The Pittsfield Suns scored in the first on an RBI double by Dan Palazzo, an RBI double by Edgar Montes, and a sacrifice fly by Dan Donahue.
Tyler Bell reached base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning and tripled in the fifth inning.
Austin Salintis had an impressive outing against the North Shore Navigators' lineup. Salintis held the North Shore Navigators hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Skyler Geissinger was solid at the plate for the North Shore Navigators. Geissinger went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second and fourth innings.
Bradley Wilpon got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed three runs over five innings. Wilpon struck out none, walked three and gave up six hits.
Michael Flaherty (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked four, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
