The Pittsfield Suns need walk-off single to beat the Marthas Vineyard Sharks, 2-1

A walk-off single from Dan Donahue brought home the winning run for the Pittsfield Suns (5-3) in a 2-1 victory over the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (3-4) at Wahconah Park on Thursday.

Donahue was solid at the plate for the Pittsfield Suns. Donahue went 1-3. He singled in the seventh and ninth innings.

Jamin McCann had an impressive outing against the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' lineup. The Marthas Vineyard Sharks managed just three hits off of the the Pittsfield Suns' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' Matt Quintana dominated the Pittsfield Suns' batters, giving up one run and striking out five.

Austin Salintis recorded his first win of the year for the Pittsfield Suns. Salintis struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Matt Binder ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
