An ace performance by Mike Geannelis hoisted the Nashua Silver Knights (3-4) to an 11-0 win over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (2-4) on Wednesday at Doyle Field.
Geannelis pitched lights out for the Nashua Silver Knights. Geannelis held the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs hitless over seven innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out nine.
The biggest inning for the Nashua Silver Knights was the second. In the inning the Nashua Silver Knights scored eight runs. The Nashua Silver Knights scored in the second on an error, a fielder's choice, a two-run single by Michael Pierson, and a home run by Jimmy Ricoy.
Brandon Walsh had a hot bat for the Nashua Silver Knights. Walsh went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second innings and homered in the fifth inning.
