An exceptional effort by Molly LaMotte lifted the Pierce (10-9) to a 13-5 win in five innings over the Olympic (7-12) on Thursday at Heritage Recreation Center.
LaMotte rocked the Olympic with two home runs. LaMotte went 2-3 in the game with two RBIs and three runs scored. LaMotte homered in the first and second innings.
Thirteen runs in the opening three innings allowed the Pierce to easily put away the Olympic. A solo home run by LaMotte and during the first inning and a single by Corrine Luke, a solo home run by LaMotte, a two-run single by Brittanie Halquist, a double by Maddy Smith, , an error, and a two-run double by Amanda Allison in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Pierce.
Greta Coleman racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Olympic. He singled in the second and third innings and tripled in the fifth inning.
Even though Karlee Rose Perry allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his seventh of the season. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered eight hits.
Amanda Johnson (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out none.
