The Healdsburg Prune Packers (10-7) beat the Top Speed Baseball (14-2) 10-7 on Saturday at Recreation Park behind Tyler Meditz, who went 3-3 at the plate.
He doubled in the first innings and singled in the third and seventh innings.The Top Speed Baseball had no answer for Brandon Poulson, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Poulson held the Top Speed Baseball hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
It was a good day at the plate for the Top Speed Baseball's Matthew Haskins. Haskins went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the eighth inning.
Nick Gagliardi improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Healdsburg Prune Packers. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Corey Lathram ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
