The Washington Wild Things (57-39) couldn't capitalize on a great day from Matt Sergey on Thursday, losing 1-0 to the Evansville Otters (57-37) at CONSOL Energy Park.

Sergey handled the Evansville Otters' lineup with ease, racking up 11 strikeouts. Sergey allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks over seven innings.

Chris Sweeney led the Evansville Otters' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Edgar Lopez kept the Washington Wild Things off the board during his seven innings of work. Lopez allowed three hits, two walks and struck out six.
