The Gateway Grizzlies (45-34) failed to take advantage of Josh Adams's effort at the plate on Friday, losing 6-4 to the Schaumburg Boomers (47-32) at GCS Ballpark.

Adams blasted two home runs for the Gateway Grizzlies. Adams went 3-4 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Adams homered in the sixth and eighth innings.

Justin Vasquez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He homered in the third inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Justin Erasmus improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed three runs over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered six hits.

JaVaun West (7-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked five, struck out eight, and allowed four runs.
