The Evansville Otters drub the Washington Wild Things, 9-3

The Evansville Otters (37-22) pounded the Washington Wild Things (38-23) on Sunday 9-3 at Bosse Field.

A solo home run by Chris Sweeney and a three-run home run by Phillip Wilson helped the Evansville Otters score four runs in the third. The Evansville Otters had four hits in the inning.

John Schultz got a hit in each of his three at bats. He homered in the first inning and singled in the third and sixth innings.

Evan Mott pitched lights out for the Evansville Otters. The Washington Wild Things managed just one hit off of Mott, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Daniel Poma racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Washington Wild Things. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second and fifth innings.

Taylor Dennis got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Alex Kaminsky (2-5) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked one and struck out two.
