It took 10 innings, but the Joliet Slammers (20-31) managed to put away the Schaumburg Boomers (28-23) 7-4 on Sunday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.
With the score tied at four in the tenth inning,, scoring Seth Granger.
Granger reached base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.
Joe De Pinto racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the first and sixth innings.
David Kubiak improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed one run over two innings. Kubiak struck out two, walked two and gave up one hit.
Heith Hatfield couldn't get it done on the mound for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
