Tyler Thompson held the River City Rascals (26-17) scoreless for seven innings to boost the Gateway Grizzlies (31-14) to a 4-1 victory.

Thompson struck out six and allowed no walks and four hits.

Niko Vasquez led the Gateway Grizzlies' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the third inning and tripled in the eighth innings.

Tommy Mendoza was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
