Tyler Shover collected three hits, sparking the Normal CornBelters (1-0) to a 5-0 victory over the Evansville Otters (0-1) on Friday at The Corn Crib.

He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Drew Provence had an impressive outing against the Evansville Otters' lineup. Provence gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one during his five innings of work.

Zach Petersime couldn't get it done on the mound for the Evansville Otters, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
