The Saskatoon Yellow Jackets make the most of 8 hits in 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Prospects

The Saskatoon Yellow Jackets (15-21) and the Edmonton Prospects (15-24) each put runners in scoring position on Saturday, but the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 2-1 win at Telus Field.

JC Gibson got on base three times in the game for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets. He singled in the second and fourth innings.

Ross Mortenson pitched lights out for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets. The Edmonton Prospects managed just one hit off of Mortenson, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

A bright spot for the Edmonton Prospects in the defeat was Noah Gapp, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.

Steven Latos improved to 2-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets. He allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered eight hits.

Gapp was charged with his fourth loss of the year.
