The Yorkton Cardinals outlast the Melville Millionaires in high-scoring affair, 20-16

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Wednesday as the Yorkton Cardinals (14-19) outscored the Melville Millionaires (11-23) 20-16.

The two teams combined for 37 hits in the game.

Cameron Duncan racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Yorkton Cardinals. He doubled in the sixth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Jeff Pool had an impressive outing against the Melville Millionaires' lineup. Pool held the Melville Millionaires hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

The Yorkton Cardinals couldn't slow down Blake Evetts, who paced the Melville Millionaires with five hits. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first, third, sixth, and eighth innings.

Austin Drummonds improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Yorkton Cardinals. Drummonds struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Andrew Hightower (0-2) took the loss for the Melville Millionaires. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

The Yorkton Cardinals hammered the Melville Millionaires pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 16 hits, 13 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
