Thursday was a great day for Scott Cone, as Cone threw a shutout to carry the Lethbridge Bulls (8-3) to a 3-0 victory over the Regina Red Sox (6-3) at Currie Field.
Cone held the Regina Red Sox scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out five.
The Lethbridge Bulls got their bats going early, scoring three runs in the first inning to pull ahead of the Regina Red Sox. The Lethbridge Bulls scored in the first on an RBI single by Dylan Dyson, an RBI double by Brandon Bufton, and an RBI single by Travis Steinke.
Kevin Hand (2-1) took the loss for the Regina Red Sox. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
