The Walla Walla (14-2) and the Big Bend (11-7) each put runners in scoring position on Wednesday, but the Walla Walla capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out an 8-5 win at Warrior Field .

Jarod Gonzales boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Walla Walla. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth and seventh innings.

The Big Bend had no answer for Levi Rudolph, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Rudolph held the Big Bend hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Herbert KJ reached base three times. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Johnny McNerney recorded his second win of the year for the Walla Walla. McNerney struck out three, walked one and gave up three hits.

Jon Dailey ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
