The Walla Walla get key pinch-hit in 9-1 victory over the Big Bend

Kendyl Hamilton was cold coming off the bench, but Hamilton warmed up quickly as Hamilton stroked a key pinch-hit double in the three to lead the Walla Walla (8-10) to a 9-1 win over the Big Bend (3-14) on Saturday at BBCC Softball Field .

With the Walla Walla leading by three in the third inning, Hamilton came to the plate and doubled.

The Walla Walla blew out the Big Bend thanks to eight hits, including zero extra base hits. The Walla Walla scored three runs in the third on an RBI double by Marisa Gonzalez and a two-run double by Hamilton.

Brook Simpson racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Walla Walla. He homered in the first inning and tripled in the fourth inning.

The Walla Walla got the win thanks in large part to Jamie Moe's dominant, seven-strikeout performance. Moe allowed no earned runs, seven hits and one walk over five innings.

Emma Stephens (0-4) took the loss for the Big Bend. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked two and struck out five.
