Saturday was a great day for Teauna Hughes, as he hit two home runs to carry the Mt. Hood (28-0) to an 11-0 victory over the Lower Columbia (16-12) at Tam O' Shanter Park in six innings.
Eight runs in the opening three innings allowed the Mt. Hood to easily put away the Lower Columbia. A two-run home run by Hughes in the first inning and a two-run home run by Kelsey Reams, an RBI single by SheaLee Lindsey, and a two-run home run by Hughes during the second inning fueled the Mt. Hood's offense early.
Ann-Marie Guischer struck out 11 hitters en route to the the Mt. Hood win. The Mt. Hood's pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.
Julia Breidt couldn't get it done on the mound for the Lower Columbia, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in two innings, walked one and struck out one.
