The Mt. Hood (33-1) jumped out to an early lead on the SW Oregon (24-15) and captured an 8-2 victory on Wednesday at Southwestern Oregon Baseball Fi.
The game was decided quickly as the Mt. Hood exerted their will early with five runs in the first three innings.
A double by Chelsea Spanier, a double by Morgan Entze, an RBI single by Kelsey Reams, , and a single by Kasidee Lemberger during the second inning fueled the Mt. Hood's offense early.Spanier put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Mt. Hood.
The Mt. Hood got the win thanks in large part to Kristen Crawford's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Crawford allowed one earned run, four hits and four walks over seven innings.
Jessica Myers (12-8) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked two and struck out one.
Spanier, Teauna Hughes and Entze helped lead the Mt. Hood. They combined for six hits and four RBIs.
