Three first-inning runs helped the Treasure Valley (17-5) to a 4-3 win over the Walla Walla (15-5) at Warrior Field on Wednesday.
Lane Lacrone paced the Treasure Valley at the plate. Lacrone went 3-5 and scored one run. He singled in the first and sixth innings and doubled in the ninth inning.
Cody Mathews pitched lights out for the Treasure Valley. The Walla Walla managed just two hits off of the the Treasure Valley's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked five and struck out one during his six innings of work.
A bright spot for the Walla Walla in the defeat was Levi Rudolph, who allowed only one run while striking out five.
Juan Munoz ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
