The Spokane (12-6) built an early lead against the Blue Mountain (3-14), scoring eight runs in the first inning, en route to a 9-4 win on Wednesday at Spokane Falls Community College.
Kyle Weiler racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Spokane. He homered in the second inning and singled in the first and fourth innings.
The Blue Mountain's lineup had no answer for Cameron Lowe. The Blue Mountain managed just two hits off of the the Spokane's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.
Dean Gettman was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Spokane batters and allowing zero runs.
Blake Andres improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Spokane. He allowed four runs over four innings. He struck out four, walked four and surrendered four hits.
Cesar Catibayan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in one-third of an inning, walked three and struck out one.
