The Chemeketa (19-20) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 4-2 ballgame against the SW Oregon (20-18) on Saturday at Chemeketa Baseball Stadium.

A two-run double by Cedric Zumwalt gave the SW Oregon the lead in the seventh inning.

The SW Oregon were led by Taylor Higgins's hitting. Higgins went 2-3 and scored one run. He singled in the second and sixth innings.

AJ Doolittle pitched lights out for the SW Oregon. Doolittle held the Chemeketa hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Hector Ferrer got a hit in each of his two at bats. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Brady Williams was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out none, and allowed one run.
