A great effort by Molly LaMotte lifted the Pierce (23-17) to a 10-0 win in five innings over the Green River (7-22) on Monday at Cirque Park.
LaMotte rocked the Green River with two home runs. LaMotte went 3-3 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. LaMotte homered in the second and fourth innings.
Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Pierce to easily put away the Green River. An RBI double by Maddy Smith and a sacrifice fly by Karlee Rose Perry in the first inning and a two-run home run by LaMotte and a solo home run by Brittanie Halquist during the second inning fueled the Pierce's offense early.
Rose Perry held the Green River scoreless during his five innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on two hits while ringing up seven.
Rachel Barcena (5-17) took the loss for the Green River. He allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked three and struck out four.
