The Springfield Sliders (13-44) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-1 to the Terre Haute Rex (37-21) on Saturday.
The Terre Haute Rex took the lead in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Kaden Moore.
Jeff Zahn had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth and eighth innings.
The Terre Haute Rex got the win thanks in large part to Andrew Moralez's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Moralez allowed one earned run on seven hits and no walks over 6 2/3 innings.
Tyler Feece was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
