A walk-off hit into a fielder's choice from Matt Hopfner brought home the winning run for the Chillicothe Paints (38-18) in a 3-2 victory over the Champion City Kings (20-36) in 10 innings at VA Memorial Stadium on Friday.
Zach Jacobs had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the third inning, singled in the first and sixth innings, and tripled in the tenth inning.
Shea Murray put together a nice outing. Murray held the Champion City Kings hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.
Bryce Arledge improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Alex Dandridge ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
The Chillicothe Paints were sparked by Jacobs and Chad Sedio, who teamed up for seven hits and two RBIs.
