The West Virginia Miners (36-20) beat the Danville Dans (30-27) 5-1 on Thursday at Danville Stadium behind Mike Brosseau, who went 2-4.

He singled in the third and eighth innings.

Cody Pope had an impressive outing against the Danville Dans' lineup. The Danville Dans managed just three hits off of Pope, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Ben Braymer brought the heat against the West Virginia Miners during his outing. Braymer held the West Virginia Miners hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two.

Mark Hendrick ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
