The Champion City Kings outdone by Paulsen and the Richmond RiverRats, 8-6

Justin Paulsen went 2-4, sparking the Richmond RiverRats (20-33) to an 8-6 victory over the Champion City Kings (19-35) on Wednesday at McBride Stadium.

He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third inning.

Chris Perkovich put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Champion City Kings. He singled in the second inning, homered in the sixth inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.

Joe Piercey handled the Richmond RiverRats' lineup with ease, racking up four strikeouts. The Champion City Kings' pitcher tossed 4 2/3 innings of shutout ball and allowed only five hits.

Even though Adam Manner allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his third of the season. Manner struck out two, walked two and gave up 10 hits.

Jacob Rodrigue couldn't get it done on the mound for the Champion City Kings, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
