The Chillicothe Paints (35-17) jumped on the Richmond RiverRats (19-32) early on their way to a 6-1 win on Monday at VA Memorial Stadium, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The Chillicothe Paints scored in the first on an RBI single by Joe Hoscheit and a two-run home run by T J Diffenderfer.

J Diffenderfer put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Chillicothe Paints.

Derek Moore got the win for the Chillicothe Paints thanks to six strikeouts. Moore allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks over five innings.

Brendon Neel was hot from the plate for the Richmond RiverRats. Neel went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Reed Evans was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked four and struck out six.
