Alex Ritchie was cold coming off the bench, but Ritchie warmed up quickly as Ritchie stroked a key pinch-hit single in the seven to lead the Chillicothe Paints (34-16) to a 7-3 win over the Champion City Kings (19-32) on Saturday at Davidson Stadium.

With the Chillicothe Paints trailing by two in the seventh inning, Ritchie came to the plate and singled.

Ronnie Dawson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Shea Murray pitched lights out for the Chillicothe Paints. Murray held the Champion City Kings hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

A bright spot for the Champion City Kings in the defeat was Marcus Reyes, who allowed only three runs while striking out nine.

Evan Dunn was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
