Grant Massey went 1-4, sparking the West Virginia Miners (32-19) to a 5-3 victory over the Lorain County Ironmen (18-32) on Friday at The Pipe Yard.

The Lorain County Ironmen couldn't get anything going as long as Dalton Curtis was pitching. Curtis held the Lorain County Ironmen hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four.

J T Brubaker pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out five.

Cody Pope improved to 5-2 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered three hits.
