The Richmond RiverRats cruise past the Chillicothe Paints, 7-1

The Richmond RiverRats (18-29) pounded the Chillicothe Paints (32-16) on Thursday 7-1 at VA Memorial Stadium.

The Richmond RiverRats scored three runs in the seventh on the Richmond RiverRats scored in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Joe Schrimpf and a two-run single by Kyle Jackson.

The Richmond RiverRats were led by Justin Paulsen's hitting. Paulsen went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.

Curtiss Irving put together a nice outing. The Chillicothe Paints managed just one hit off of Irving, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Adam Manner improved to 2-4 on the year by picking up the win for the Richmond RiverRats. He allowed one run over six innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered eight hits.

Jason Byers ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
