Matt Hopfner went 3-3 at the plate, sparking the Chillicothe Paints (31-15) to a 7-5 victory over the Lorain County Ironmen (17-30) on Friday at VA Memorial Stadium.

Jason Johnson put together a nice outing. Johnson held the Lorain County Ironmen hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Andrew Gronski got on base four times in the game for the Lorain County Ironmen.

Justin Fritts allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings of work.

Kyle Michalik (0-2) took the loss for the Lorain County Ironmen. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
