The Chillicothe Paints (29-13) beat the Hannibal Cavemen (17-25) 8-5 on Wednesday at Clemens Field behind T J Diffenderfer, who knocked in three runs.
He singled in the first and third innings.Bryce Arledge brought the heat against the Hannibal Cavemen during his outing. Arledge gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his two innings of work.
The Hannibal Cavemen were led by Christian Cavaness's hitting. Cavaness went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings and tripled in the ninth innings.
Shea Murray improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. He struck out one, walked three and surrendered one hit.
Jake Eikleberry ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out five.
