Taylor Kellner went 3-3 at the plate, sparking the West Virginia Miners (27-15) to a 7-5 victory over the Butler Blue Sox (23-18) on Tuesday at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

He singled in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings.

A bright spot for the Butler Blue Sox in the defeat was Austin Ross, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

Stuart Levy reached base three times in the game for the Butler Blue Sox. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Cody Pope improved to 4-2 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered two hits.

David Bednar was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
