An exceptional effort by Marcus Reyes carried the Champion City Kings (17-23) to a 4-0 win over the Lorain County Ironmen on Tuesday at Carleton Davidson Stadium.
Reyes' 12 strikeouts were enough to push the Champion City Kings past the Lorain County Ironmen (16-25). The Champion City Kings' pitcher gave up just four hits over nine shutout innings.
Tanner Reibenspies racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Champion City Kings. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.
Ben Standiford (2-3) took the loss for the Lorain County Ironmen. He lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
