Jeff Zahn collected three hits, sparking the Terre Haute Rex (19-13) to a 5-1 victory over the Quincy Gems (17-13) on Wednesday at Quincy Stadium.

Hayden Cleveland struck out six hitters en route to the the Terre Haute Rex win. Cleveland allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks over seven innings.

A bright spot for the Quincy Gems in the defeat was Jake Wehde, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

Cassidy Brown was hot from the plate for the Quincy Gems. Brown went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Brendon Allen (5-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
