It took 10 innings, but the Springfield Sliders (5-24) managed to put away the Terre Haute Rex (16-13) 5-4 on Sunday at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad.

Zach Schira paced the Springfield Sliders at the plate. Schira went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Taylor Carlson got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Ben Morrison ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.
