The Springfield Sliders (4-24) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-2 to the Quincy Gems (15-11) on Saturday.

An RBI single by Logan Bone gave the Quincy Gems the lead in the fourth inning.

Chris Tschida put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Quincy Gems. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Kyle Cedotal picked up the win for the Quincy Gems. Cedotal allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Robert Spath was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

The Quincy Gems were sparked by Bone and Tschida, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
