Sean Ullrich went 1-2 as the Quincy Gems (14-11) took home a 5-1 victory over the Champion City Kings (11-12) at Davidson Stadium on Thursday.

He singled in the sixth inning.

Brendon Allen kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the Champion City Kings batters. Allen allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks over eight innings.

Ryan Thurston couldn't get it done on the bump for the Champion City Kings, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
