Drew Erie went 2-4, sparking the Chillicothe Paints (15-7) to a 3-2 victory over the Quincy Gems (13-10) on Tuesday at VA Memorial Stadium.

Jason Byers allowed no earned runs, four hits and no walks while striking out four over 5 2/3 innings of work.

A bright spot for the Quincy Gems in the defeat was Jake Busiek, who allowed only one run while striking out six.

Zachary Wolfe recorded his second win of the year for the Chillicothe Paints. Wolfe struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Will Spitzfaden (0-1) took the loss for the Quincy Gems. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
