The Hannibal Cavemen (11-11) built an early lead against the Springfield Sliders (4-18), scoring four runs in the first inning, en route to a 10-5 win on Sunday at Robin Roberts Field.
The Hannibal Cavemen scored in the first on an RBI single by Tyler Bethune, an RBI single by Jonathan Allison, an error, and an RBI single by Hayden McMillon.
McMillon racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Hannibal Cavemen.
The Springfield Sliders' Jake Ingold was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth and seventh innings.
Devin Breihan got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over 2 1/3 innings. Breihan struck out three, walked none and gave up four hits.
Jake Haberer (0-4) took the loss for the Springfield Sliders. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
