Jeff Smith knocked in three runs, helping the Hannibal Cavemen (10-7) to an 8-5 victory over the Quincy Gems (11-6) on Tuesday at Clemens Field.
He singled in the third inning and tripled in the seventh inning.It was a good day at the plate for the Quincy Gems' Adam McGinnis. McGinnis went 3-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the first and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth innings.
Clinton Perez recorded his fourth win of the year for the Hannibal Cavemen. Perez struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.
Mitch Weis (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
