The Chillicothe Paints make the most of 9 hits in 9-6 victory over the Richmond RiverRats

The Chillicothe Paints (19-9) and the Richmond RiverRats (11-17) both had scoring chances on Monday, but it was the Chillicothe Paints that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 9-6 win at McBride Stadium.

Diamyn Hall racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He singled in the seventh inning and homered in the eighth inning.

The Richmond RiverRats couldn't get anything going as long as Trace Dempsey was pitching. The Richmond RiverRats managed just one hit off of the the Chillicothe Paints' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his two innings of work.

Bowie Matteson was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Chillicothe Paints batters and allowing three runs.

Shea Murray improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered two hits.

Chad Whitmer couldn't get it done on the hill for the Richmond RiverRats, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
