Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the Richmond RiverRats (6-10) outscored the Lorain County Ironmen (7-9) 9-8 in 11 innings.
The two teams combined for 25 hits in the game.
Michael Paez had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the second and ninth innings.
Tommy Winterstein improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Richmond RiverRats. He allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings. Winterstein struck out three, walked three and gave up three hits.
Jordan Kesson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
The Richmond RiverRats' Ryan Leffel, Paez, Brendon Neel and Justin Paulsen combined for seven hits and seven RBIs.
